Turkish Airlines Baggage Allowance

In Economy, each passenger is allowed one bag measuring no more than 40x30x15 inches and weighing no more than 8 kg, in addition to their item. The maximum weight of the carry-on item is 4 kg. 

Each Business Class passenger is allowed one personal item in the form of a bag no larger than 40x30x15 in size and two cabin bags with a combined weight of 16 kg (dimensions of 23x40x55). The maximum weight of the carry-on item is 4 kg.

You can buy additional luggage from the airline online for a minimum of 3 kg or 1 piece and a maximum of 230 kg or 10 pieces. The maximum allowed weight for a single piece of baggage is 32 kg. All bags over 32 kg have to be transported by their owners. In addition, the sum of your bags' dimensions (width + length + height) cannot be greater than 158 cm.

Online check-in for extra luggage begins 355 days before departure for domestic flights and continues until 60 minutes before take-off for international flights when flying on Turkish Airlines. In routes that use the kilogram concept, an extra baggage fee is charged at the airport if the total weight of a passenger's checked bags and any additional bags they may have purchased is greater than the free checked bag weight limit.

Turkish Airlines Check-In and Boarding Pass

You can avoid waiting in a queue to choose your seat by checking in through the official app or website on your mobile device. You can skip the queue at the boarding gate and head straight there with the help of your smartphone boarding pass. 

There is a 90-minute online check-in window beginning 24 hours before departure. To check bags and clear security, passengers should be at the airport at least two hours before a domestic flight's departure and three hours before an international flight's departure. 

Using a mobile boarding pass is a modest but significant way that you can help the environment by reducing paper usage. A smartphone boarding permit will allow you to speed past security checkpoints and save you valuable minutes. If you are not bringing any bags with you, you can bypass the check-in counter and head straight to the gate. You can drop off your bags at the check-in counter and head on over to the boarding area if you're ready to board.

Turkish Airlines On-board Support

The carrier provides disabled and sick travellers with additional services, including discounts, to provide a comfortable and worry-free flight. Wheelchair requests must be made 48 hours before the flight and verified in the booking. Service availability will determine whether requests made within 48 hours of the trip are granted. 

SMA passengers must bring medical devices, charged extra batteries, and a plug adaptor to plug them into the aircraft's socket. Stretcher-bound patients must travel with a companion, although their Turkish Airline flight tickets are issued separately. 

The passenger and companion passenger must also provide a Turkish or English report declaring that they are fit for the flight no later than 10 days (inclusive). Stretcher passengers will pay 7 times the highest Economy Class rate, excluding one-way and single Turkish Airlines ticket taxes.

About Turkish Airlines Refund & Cancellation

No-shows are not eligible for cancellations or refunds, in such cases only the landing fee will be returned. In the event of a cancellation, ticketing service costs are non-refundable. Domestic flights between the Republic of Turkey and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus-Ercan do not allow for any cancellations or refunds in the final twelve hours before departure. 

Domestic flight cancellations and refunds processed within 12 hours will incur a TRY 400 fee. A refund will be issued for the outstanding balance once the ticketing service fee has been deducted. Cancellations and refunds processed 12 or more days before departure will be subject to a TRY 750 processing fee. 

For international flights, cancellation and refund transactions are not allowed between 0 and 12 hours before departure; however, any taxes that were collected will be reimbursed in full. Fees for fuel oil and ticketing services are excluded from tax refund calculations. There will be a charge of 400 TRY, which will be reversed if the cancellation is made more than 12 hours before departure.
